What treatments are available with Juniper? Are they approved in Australia?
All treatments available on the Juniper program have been approved for use in Australia, and are commonly recommended by GPs and local pharmacies for the treatment of weight management. However, due to Australian Therapeutic Goods regulations, we are unable to discuss specific treatment options until your consult with one of our Juniper practitioners. This is to ensure a qualified medical professional discusses all the options available to you before you make any decisions regarding medical treatments.

How does Juniper pricing work and what’s included?

Is Juniper covered by health insurance?
Some components of your treatment through Juniper may be able to be claimed through some private health insurers. Please contact your provider to find out if your treatment is covered.
We can provide a pharmacy invoice for you to use to claim with your private health insurance. Once you have purchased your treatment plan, please submit a request here.
What happens during the quiz and practitioner consult?
The Juniper quiz contains questions about your health, lifestyle and wellness goals, which helps your practitioner gain a deep understanding of your medical status before you begin your consultation.
After completing the quiz, you’ll be connected with your practitioner who will have some follow-up questions for you. You will also be able to ask the practitioner questions – It’s a safe space for you to get the clarity you need to understand if our program is right for you.
If eligible, you’ll be offered a treatment plan and everything you need will be delivered to your door. Your practitioner and our dedicated team of dietitians and health coaches are always on hand to support you with your treatment.
What if I experience side effects?
If you experience side effects, we will support you with unlimited practitioner support available 7 days a week.
Your Juniper practitioner will take the time to understand your medical history, as well as your family’s, to ensure the safest treatment plan for you. While rare, some individuals may have a slightly higher risk of extremely uncommon side effects. In such cases, your practitioner will always err on the side of caution and explore alternative options if needed.
Which patients may not be suitable for the Juniper Program?
While your practitioner will review your individual circumstances in detail, the program is generally not appropriate for certain classes of patients including those who:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding, or actively trying to conceive;
- do not meet the definition of overweight or obesity for their cultural background; and
- are over 75 years old.
If your practitioner ultimately determines that the program isn’t right for you, or you choose not to proceed, you will receive a full refund.
